Mission:
Our mission is to develop a program that promotes discipleship while embracing the social challenges of media, peer pressure, and self esteem. To due this we will focus on eight important themes:
ADVOCACY (Proverbs 31:8-9)
To support policies and programs that nurture and empower youth and their families to promote equal opportunities.
CATECHESIS
To assist in the development of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Whenever possible increase the knowledge of the core content of the Catholic
faith. Genuine faith is a total response of the whole person- mind, heart, and will. Catechesis will foster and/or cultivate growth in the Catholic
faith in 3 dimensions- trusting (heart), knowing/believing (mind), and doing (will). Catechesis for youth should not be primarily lecture-based, but
will include ample oppurtunities for reflection and discussion.
COMMUNITY LIFE (1 Peter 2:9)
To build an environment of love, support, and an appreciation for diversity. We (the entire church community) are challenged to teach compassion,
generosity, tolerance, peace, forgiveness, acceptance, and love using the Gospel as our foundation. Community life is not only what we do (as activity),
but who we are (as identity) and how we interact (our relationships).
EVANGELIZATION (Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 12:49)
19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.
JUSTICE AND SERVICE (Luke 4:18)
To work for the justice and service of those in need; together we will be an example of peace, and defend the life, dignity, and rights of all of
our brothers and sisters.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
To utilize our diverse gifts, talents, and abilities to develop and cultivate this ministry. Peer leaders and adult volunteers will be equipped with
the skills needed to develop a "comprehensive ministry". All will be encouraged to commit at least 12 months of service.
PASTORAL CARE (Psalm 16:11)
11 You will show me the path to life, abounding joy in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.
PRAYER AND WORSHIP
To believe and celebrate our faith! Share, experience, and learn the diversity of cultural traditions using music, native languages, and symbols as
we celebrate and live the same faith and belief. Ultimately promoting vocations, life of sacrament, and responsibility of service.
