Sacred Heart of Joy Prayer Group
"Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place all our trust in You."
In our weekly meetings, by way of worship, praise, song, prayer, faith-sharing, and Scripture-based teachings, we try to receive more fully the gifts, or charismas, the Holy Spirit bestows on us when we become children of the Kingdom in Baptism. His most precious gift, as Paul tells us in I Corinthians 13:13, is love. He also offers us gifts of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, tongues and interpretation of tongues, as Paul tells us in the previous chapter, "the work of one and the same Spirit for the common good."
"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens wit God's people and member of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In him, the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him, you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit." (Eph. 2:19-22)
With the encouragement and full support of our pastor Fr. Lincoln, we were formed in July of 2002, and we have just completed a Life in the Spirit course. This has helped us to grow together as a group, and to recognize and utilize these gifts of the Spirit within our own lives. We hope, in the coming months, to be able to present this same LSS Seminar publicly, in order to offer its benefits to a wider audience.
We meet each Thursday morning, from 10:00 to 11:30AM in the St. Theresa meeting room, and we welcome all who hunger for more of God in their lives. Join us some Thursday, bringing your praise and your petitions.
For further information, call Madelene Balloy (760) 773-2171.
