Sacred Heart Church in partnership with Catholic Charities and Martha’s Village &Kitchen will be providing food monthly to Duroville, a trailer community of approximately 2,000 people in the East Valley on the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indian Reservation.
Volunteers for packaging and delivery will be needed every month as part of our ongoing 2 year project.
Update:
Duroville #9 packing is scheduled for February 15th at Martha's warehouse, starting at 8:30 AM and delivery is all set for February 17th at 4:00 PM at Duroville. Packing is going to be a new experience, Calidad Corn Tortillas, Yellow Onions, Green Giant Green Beans (14.5 oz can) and Fruit/Pears Halves (8.5 oz can) will be included in this month's delivery. We will have latex gloves for the onion packers. Reminder, gloves and long sleeve shirt are recomended.
Packing: Volunteers will assemble and pack boxes with non-perishable food items for delivery.
Next packing date is February 15 , from 8:30AM to 10:45AM at Martha’s Village in Indio.
Delivery: Volunteers needed for door to door delivery of boxes weighing approximately 30+ pounds.
Delivery is set for February 17 , from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Duroville.
We ask for support and prayers from our entire community as this project can not be possible without the strength and labor of our volunteers and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
